Process optimization: our experienced staff can meet your desired delivery method to incorporate functional ingredients in your product --whether it's a functional food, cosmetic product, or simply a capsule or pill. We also maintain inventory and have an extensive sample library with immediate availability. Whatever the functional system, we'll make sure to provide the right ingredient solution.
Ideation and Concept Development: We are more than an ingredient supplier. The staff at PLT is always on the lookout--at trade shows, in trade magazines/market reports, and via our network of international connections--for what's new, exciting, and effective in the natural products universe. We are happy to share our ideas on ingredient applications and corresponding product concepts. We're even happier to hear your input. Collaboration is the key to our company's success and yours.
Sourcing: Consistency is imperative to the success of your product. At PLT, we take that a step further. Our ingredients come from the reliable, longtime sources, so the quality is always consistent. Often, as with our branded ingredients, our supplier partners accompany us at tradeshows and client visits. We don't stop there. Every year, our staff members fly around the globe to visit with our suppliers, thus ensuring that they live up to our exacting standards.
Documentation/Testing: At PLT we take pride in our products. Our supplier partners test every batch for consistency, purity and marker compounds. We work with our customers to test our products in different food systems and applications, so we know an ingredient's potential. We support the right solution with full documentation, including Product Specification Sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Certificates of Analysis and substantiation dossiers.
This mindset is more than a company goal. PLT is one of the working group companies on the Standardized Information on Dietary Ingredients (SIDI) protocol to standardize and streamline the communication of information on a raw ingredient from ingredient supplier to manufacturer. This initiative was developed by the leading industry associations, including the American Herbal Products Association, the Council for Responsible Nutrition and the Natural Products Association.
Clinical Studies: Other companies may borrow science, but at PLT we strive to conduct independent studies to prove our products' efficacy. With our partners, we develop product substantiation using in vivo and in vitro studies and double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical studies to support our ingredients. PLT staff and our partners present our results at national and international trade shows and through numerous trade publications, scientific journals, and other media outlets. We stand by what we provide, and so does the research.
New Technologies: The natural products industry does not stand still. What's a hot ingredient today may be replaced by another product tomorrow. Business practices change often, as do the methods that improve communication and foster production. Customers are looking at the ethical side of business production more than ever before, and we need to be prepared to meet these needs.
