PLT Offers Pomegranate P40p™ – Rich in Punicosides

PLT is pleased to offer P40p™, a standardized pomegranate extract with minimum 40% punicosides. Punicosides (polyphenols belonging to the punicalagins group) are the most powerful antioxidants in pomegranate.  P40p™was developed in collaboration with Canary Islands based research company Poliant SL.

According to PLT business manager Scott Rosenbush, “P40p’s advantage over competitive pomegranate products is that POM40p is standardized to the water soluble punicalagins and has the exact ratio of phytochemical markers as occur in pomegranate juice. This is distinctly different from the solvent extracted ellagic acid available in other products.”

A recently published study on a water extract of pomegranate showed new benefits against enzymes that may contribute to osteoarthritis. Other research, primarily on pomegranate juice, which is rich with punicalagins, indicates benefits relating to oxidative stress as well as for atherosclerosis, hypertension and other cardiovascular conditions. Studies indicate benefits from as little as 50mL (1.7 ounces) of pomegranate juice per day. When compared to the leading brand of juice in the US, this is equivalent to 45 - 50 mg of P40p a day.

P40p is the only Kosher-certified pomegranate extract available. It is allergen free and does not contain the sugars found in juice.
